Yogyakarta (MAN 2 Yogyakarta) — The Special Sports Class (Kelas Khusus Olahraga/KKO) program of MAN 2 Yogyakarta continues to demonstrate its effectiveness in nurturing young athletes, as two of its students recently achieved outstanding results at regional and provincial sports competitions.
Aneza
Aurelia Shalehah, a Grade XF student of the KKO program, secured First Place in
the Junior Women’s Kumite +59 kg category at the TEKP CUP 2026. The Provincial
Inter-Student Karate Championship was held on 7–8 February 2026 at GOR
Cangkring. Competing against top student athletes from across the Special
Region of Yogyakarta, Aneza delivered a consistent and composed performance,
showcasing strong technical mastery, tactical discipline, and mental resilience
to claim the top podium position.
Another
achievement was recorded by Aqil Syafiq Alim, a Grade XF student, who earned
Second Place at the regional level in the Piala KONI. The competition,
organized under the auspices of the Indonesian National Sports Committee
(KONI), took place from 13 December 2025 to 7 February 2026 at Lapangan Wiyoro.
Aqil demonstrated consistency, determination, and competitive focus throughout
the tournament, successfully securing the runner-up position among strong
regional contenders.
The
Principal of MAN 2 Yogyakarta, Hartiningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd., expressed her
appreciation for the students’ accomplishments. She emphasized that these
achievements reflect the school’s strong commitment to the KKO program, which
is designed to balance academic excellence with non-academic achievement in
sports. “These results confirm that our KKO program provides a structured and
sustainable environment for student-athletes to grow and excel,” she stated.
Hartiningsih
further expressed her hope that these successes would inspire other KKO
students to train with discipline, uphold sportsmanship, and confidently
compete at higher levels. With continued program strengthening and
institutional support, MAN 2 Yogyakarta remains optimistic about producing
future athletes capable of excelling at national and international
competitions.
