Yogyakarta (MAN 2 Yogyakarta) – MAN 2 Yogyakarta welcomed an academic visit from Kokushikan University, Japan, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the school's third-floor hall. The session featured Dr. Jakfar Idrus, an Associate Professor at Kokushikan University, and was attended by 66 students from Classes XII B, XI B, and selected representatives from Grade X. The visit aimed to introduce the university's 21st Century Asia Studies Program, provide insights into student life in Japan, explain admission pathways, scholarships, and study opportunities for international students, as well as foster discussions with teachers on Japanese language education and preparation for higher education in Japan.

In her welcoming remarks, Hartiningsih, S.Pd., M.Pd., Principal of MAN 2 Yogyakarta, stated that the program strongly reflects the school's vision of becoming "An Advanced, High-Quality, and Globally-Oriented Madrasah." She emphasized that MAN 2 Yogyakarta warmly welcomes collaborations and educational initiatives that can serve as bridges for students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad. "The world is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Proficiency in foreign languages, especially Japanese, is no longer merely an added advantage but has become an essential competency in today's global competition. Japan is internationally recognized for its excellence in education, technology, economy, and culture. Therefore, the opportunity to pursue higher education in Japan is one that our students should begin preparing for as early as possible," she said.

During the presentation and interactive discussion, Dr. Jakfar Idrus shared valuable information about academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and the admission process for prospective international students. He also expressed his appreciation for the students' enthusiasm and active participation throughout the session, hoping that the program would inspire them to pursue their academic dreams in Japan. The event was accompanied by Fajar Basuki Rahmat, S.Ag., Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, Dyah Estuti Tri Hartini, S.Pd., Guidance and Counseling Teacher, and Diah Wijiastuti, S.S., Japanese Language Teacher.
